If you don’t stand out, you don’t stand a chance!
At 500 Doors, we help residential realtors build their brand, increase visibility, and grow their business through strategic community engagement. Led by Kim Hayden, a seasoned real estate and community expert, our program focuses on connecting with just 500 doors a month to help agents foster relationships, build trust, and create a thriving business. You’re just 500 doors away from success, and it all starts with community.
Why 500 Doors?
The real estate market is crowded, and to succeed, you need to stand out. If you don’t stand out, you don’t stand a chance. That’s where community farming comes in. By consistently marketing to and supporting just 500 homes—your 500 doors—each month, you can build brand confidence through personal connections that online marketing alone can’t achieve. While an online presence remains important, there’s no replacement for the trust and loyalty built through in-person interactions. Whether you’re hosting local events or supporting neighborhood causes, we provide the tools you need to engage your community in a way that matters. It’s about building a brand that’s seen, heard, and trusted—both online and offline.

Event marketing is key to creating local brand awareness. From idea generation to promotion and execution, we guide you through hosting events that make a real impact in your community. This is how you consistently stand out and build connections that lead to referrals and long-term clients.
Brand Awareness & Consistency:
We help you establish a consistent presence in your community. By farming 500 doors each month, you’ll build a recognizable and trustworthy brand that sets you apart from the competition, increasing your influence and referral base.
Lead Generation & Engagement:
500 Doors is designed to help you connect with your target market on a deeper level. We teach you how to generate, nurture, and convert leads through meaningful community interactions. Engaging your audience in person builds the trust needed to grow your business sustainably.

Maximize your Results
Authenticity and a community-driven approach have been among the roots of real estate success. Recently, I had the pleasure of speaking with Steven Sarasin, a seasoned real estate professional from Muskoka, Canada. With a background rooted in entrepreneurship and a passion for community, Steven shared his invaluable insights that resonate with both seasoned agents and first-time buyers.
Learn more about him in this blog, or listen to the full episode here.
Steven shared that he had always been a bit of a hustler, even from his early days in public school and high school. He was always finding ways to make some extra cash, whether cutting lawns, cleaning gutters, or shoveling snow. Having various jobs in construction and concrete, he was known as "part-time Steve" because he couldn't commit to just one thing. He and his brother were always entrepreneurs at heart, finding ways to make money from a young age.
As Steven got older, he started subcontracting jobs out and taking a cut, which ignited his passion for business. When his uncle, someone whom he had looked up to and respected, suggested real estate, he decided to take the leap and pursue a career in real estate. He hadn’t looked back since.
One of the standout qualities that sets Steven apart is his commitment to authenticity. He emphasizes the need for trust in real estate, stating, “When they meet me… they know they can trust me because I’m not going to sugarcoat it.” Being straightforward resonates with clients, which gives them a sense of security in their real estate decisions.
In a world where many agents may rely on flashy presentations, Steven’s honesty and storytelling ability create a genuine connection with his clients. He believes that “Integrity, Empathy, and Honesty” are the cornerstones of successful real estate practice.
Community Matters
As someone who grew up in a family that didn’t have much, Steven's business is fundamentally based on community. He shared, “I don’t door knock, I don’t cold call… I just like to give to the community.” He always believed in helping others without expecting anything in return. Supporting local initiatives and events such as sponsoring local sports teams has built him a strong reputation in Muskoka.
When discussing the hidden gems in his area, Steven mentioned beautiful sandy beaches and unique local eateries, showcasing his deep knowledge and appreciation for the community he serves. “We have some of the nicest sandiest beaches… unless you know somebody already down there, you wouldn’t know.”
As the market continuously evolves, Steven offers practical advice for both buyers and sellers. He encourages first-time buyers to “buy whatever you can afford to get yourself into the market.” He reminds us that the journey to homeownership is often a stepping stone, not a destination. “None of us grew up in our forever home,” he says, reinforcing the idea that starting small can lead to greater opportunities.
For sellers, Steven stresses the importance of understanding market dynamics. He shares that there is always a good reason to buy or sell. This encourages clients to view real estate as a long-term investment rather than a short-term transaction.
Steven Sarasin’s journey in real estate is a refreshing reminder that success in this industry comes from authenticity, community involvement, and a willingness to adapt. His journey shows that real estate is not just about closing deals but about fostering meaningful relationships and giving back.
